The Holiday of Lights, hosted by the Greene County Medical Center auxiliary, has added a festive touch to the spacious gathering area at the front of the medical center.
A wide variety of decorated Christmas trees, wreaths, door decorations and centerpieces – 43 items in all – are being sold by silent auction now through Friday, Dec. 16. Bidding will close at 4 pm that day and the high bidders can take their items home then to enjoy during the holidays.
All proceeds benefit the medical center.
The auxiliary has added Saturday hours for holiday shopping at the Gift Garden at the medical center. Regular hours are week days from 9 am to 4 pm. Special holiday hours are Saturdays Dec. 7, Dec. 14 and Dec. 21 from 10 am to 2 pm.
Also, the Greene County Medical Center Foundation is again honoring the holiday season with the Tree of Life.
Area residents are invited to purchase an ornament for $25 in a loved one’s name. The ornament will be placed on the Tree of Life and displayed until Wednesday, Dec. 18. A remembrance service will be held in the medical center gathering area that day at 2 pm. Donors can take the ornaments home following the program or pick them up in the Gift Garden at a later time.
Persons who want more information or to purchase an ornament can call medical center foundation director Nancy Houska at 515-386-0108 or visit the Gift Garden.
